Report on 3PL Profit and Loss Computations

Industrial Data & Information, Inc. announces a new design report called "3PL Profit and Loss Computations".

By having the detailed profit & loss data on every client, the 3PL is able to renegotiate rates with those unprofitable or marginal clients. Unfortunately - analysts at each 3PL manipulate data in a lengthy monthly manual process to provide management this client-by-client profitability analysis. The analysis is outdated immediately and management has a limited “once a month” view. This new detailed design report shows a solid design in calculating each clients P&L based on warehousing data. This new design provides real-time analysis available at any moment. This new ground breaking research report covers:

  • 3PL Billing
  • 3PL Costing Computations
  • 3PL Profit & Loss
  • Database Table Layout
  • 3PL Executive Drill-Down Inquiry on Client Profitability

For an overview of this report - see http://www.idii.com/products/3plProfitLoss.htm or the PDF version at http://www.idii.com/pdf/3plProfitLossPromo.pdf. To purchase a review copy of this design paper – See http://www.idii.com/orderdigital.htm.

If you wish to implement this design into a software solution – contact IDII for additional licensing requirements regarding IDII’s intellectual property. Single review copies of the "3PL Profit & Loss Computations" are $395.00 US. Available from IDII.com. December 2005.

CAPE Systems (OTCBB:CYSG) Releases Version 2.05 Of Its Cape Pack Packaging Design And Pallet Mapping Software called CAPE PACK™, which optimizes packaging design and pallet utilization. This release is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. This product is a must have tool for any company in the world which ships products in cartons, cases and pallets.

CAPE PACK Release 2.05, among other things, allows a user to design or modify pallet base styles using realistic looking pallets rather than using pallet blocks or requesting new pallet styles from CAPE’s customer services. This release makes the graphics and data in CAPE PACK accessible to colleagues, customers and suppliers by creating packaging/palletizing specifications as web pages which can be viewed any time anywhere over the Internet. Importantly, this release builds in the ability to automatically compare the financial implications of different solutions. The software further allows a user to select pallet base styles graphically from a group of thumbnail pictures. To enhance decision making, a user can view all pallet pattern solutions together on one screen and choose the best at a glance. Finally, Release 2.05 allows a user to add horizontal corner posts or top boards in the on-screen graphics to build realistic pallet loads.

CAPE PACK V2.05 includes a number of new import and export capabilities that help streamline data input and improve system integration functionality. Product and bundle databases allow users to import and easily use product information in program analyses, thus reducing manual and repeat data entry. Exporting data in standard and now XML formats has enhanced the method of sharing packaging specification information with other systems, such as SAP.

HighJump Software (division of 3M) announces Supply Chain Advantage 8.0. This release combines a multitude of product enhancements and an improved graphical user interface on its fully Microsoft .NET-enabled platform. The new platform also includes support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Oracle 10g. Supply Chain Advantage 8.0 includes many noteworthy enhancements:

Warehouse Advantage (WMS) has Full integration between HighJump's WMS and the latest version of Vocollect's Voice-Directed Distribution adds voice-enabled picking options configurable by warehouse, specific pick area or specific employee. Additionally, HighJump added functionality to deepen the replenishment model for top-off replenishment, quantity-based replenishments, and dynamic calculation of replenishment quantities based on demand. The solution's supply chain visibility was also enhanced by adding a complete set of executive dashboard performance metrics and Web pages.

Manufacturing Advantage (MES) contains numerous enhanced features designed to improve shop floor performance. A scheduling workbench allows planners and schedulers to effectively manage production against a set schedule. The solution also includes stronger shop floor production reporting and asset management capabilities that assist customers in tracking operational efficiency. Throughout the production process, customers can capture and track quality management data and other key product attributes used for material traceability and genealogy.

Yard Advantage has graphical user interface, drag-and-drop yard moves, multi-yard support and real-time location tracking for trailers. Customers can now visualize their yards on-screen and make necessary adjustments based on real-time inventory usage requirements. Real-time visualization of trailer positions helps ensure yard security and fast inventory tracking.

SAMSys Technologies Inc. (SMY: TSX) today introduced the SAMSys RFID Portal Express System, a turnkey UHF radio frequency identification (RFID) portal solution for dock door environments. The system permits rapid deployment of RFID capabilities at the dock door for supply chain, asset tracking and inventory management applications. The SAMSys RFID Portal Express System bundles an EPC Gen 2 compliant, multi-protocol SAMSys MP9320 v2.8 reader with antennas, cables, a light stack, a motion sensor, and a heavy-duty steel framework that houses and protects all RFID equipment from errant forklifts. The framework, which can also be purchased separately, takes the form of two 10-foot-high steel tubes connected by an optional overhead bridge.

Features of the SAMSys RFID Portal Express System include:
• The SAMSys MP9320 v2.8 reader, offering support for Gen 2 tags as well as EPC Class 0, Class 1, ISO 18000-6A, ISO 18000-6B, and Philips UCODE 1.19 protocols.
• Heavy-duty, 2”-thick tubular steel design, providing a sturdy and damage-resistant framework for warehouses and distribution centers. The reader, antennas, and cables are all protected within the steel tubes.
• Adjustable reader and antenna heights, permitting optimal positioning of equipment for the specific physical environment.
• Self-standing or floor-mount base, for temporary or permanent installation.
• Cross-bridge connection (optional), providing stability as well as a protective housing for cables and the option to mount antennas and lights overhead.
• Protective polycarbonate covers (optional), providing added protection from dust and mishandling.
