- EXE Technologies (WMS, TMS, Slotting Optimization) will
deliver EXceed on Linux-based computers from International Business
Machines Corporation.
Editor's Note: EXE's stock price is rapidly rising over the last
few weeks. Various rumors are floating around. In our humble opinion, we
would expect an ERP software vendor -OR- a large company or 3PL that
needs 50 plus installations to purchase EXE.
- HighJump Software, (WMS, YMS, TMS) announced
the release of Supplier Advantage(TM), a
supplier execution enablement tool that extends HighJump's trading partner
enablement suite. This
solution functions on a
stand-alone basis and also integrates seamlessly with HighJump's applications,
such as Warehouse Advantage(R),
Transportation Advantage(TM) and Yard Advantage(TM).
Supplier Advantage provides immediate ROI by optimizing activities,
improving the efficiency of inbound goods management, and enhancing overall
supplier relationships throughout the entire supply chain. This solution also
decreases labor costs by streamlining receiving and data entry work.
Furthermore, Supplier Advantage promotes proactive event management and issue
resolution to reduce unexpected delays and expedited shipment costs.
- Industri-Matematik
International Corp. (WMS) announced IMI
Warehouse 4.1, Among
the new features in IMI Warehouse are extended capabilities
to manage transport routes and link the warehouse operation to departure

and other warehouses as well as packing material delivered to customers.
Another new key feature is the comprehensive support of Advanced
Shipping Notices (ASN) with detailed shipment-level information and content
specifications per unique container. ASN support improves flexibility
and efficiency by enabling the warehouse to act both as a pool point
or cross-dock center for transit shipments, as well as a traditional

will enable OMI to become a key provider of advanced forecasting and replenishment
solutions, and significantly broaden their application suite to include the handling
and analysis of store-level point-of-sale demand data.
Founded in 1996, the Supply Science team worked closely with leading retailers
and manufacturers to create the DemandAnalytX - Demand-based Store
Replenishment Software application and FORS - Demand-based Distribution Center
Forecasting
software. By accurately forecasting consumer demand and optimizing order quantities
and their timing, the application enables retailers to maximize on-shelf availability,
minimize inventory levels, reduce spoilage and obsolescence, improve sales

the application first optimizes inventories at the store, which impacts the
amount of transportation and ultimately recommends distribution center inventory
levels - all using demand-based point-of-sale data.

Maximizing Warehouse Space: The Key to Productivity
(WERC Seminar)
July 21-22, 2003
Princeton, NJ
Radisson Hotel
Warehouse space is—or at least should be—a hot topic in every facility.
After all, you make daily decisions about product location, picking, putaway,
shipping and receiving that all revolve around the layout and design of
your facility. So how is your facility doing? Although dock doors and
columns can’t be changed, there are some fundamental rules of thumb that
will help you maximize the space in your warehouse. You’ll examine all
of the elements for planning space on day one, and then on day two you’ll
work in a group to redesign a fictional DC using the information you learned.
