FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions - Press Releases

Why did my press release not get into the newsletter?
The editors at IDII purposely discard press releases each week. We skip over (1) Personnel departures & hires, (2) Revenue announcements, (3) Win announcements, and (4) Minor news items - such as market strategy announcements.

What types of news do get into the newsletter? The editors at IDII purposely focus on news that a busy software professional (in an end-user setting) would find as useful and news worthy. We do look forward to news with (A) New Software Releases, (B) New Module Announcements, (C) Partnerships with other Software Companies. Remember the saying "Where's the beef? - Busy professionals need just that! Note: If you are announcing a new release of the software AND the first company (a win) that implemented it - please split the announcement & new software release into two press releases.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions - White Papers

Do you ever accept contributed articles from vendors for your newsletters? Yes. The editors at IDII require that the articles (either short articles or white papers), be highly educational and avoid marketing. Our subscribers are experienced IT & logistics professionals who want DETAILS about HOW IT WAS DONE or how it is going to be done. These people are innovative, highly educated, and motivated to produce/create solutions for the people they serve. They appreciate detailed knowledge articles! See FAQ & guidelines in the White Paper section.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions - Events

What types of events are listed in the newsletters? Our focus is educational events that are focused on supply chain software, material handling, RF, RFID, and related topics. Therefore, we list trade shows, since most have classes, plus vendors are willing to demonstrate their software on the trade show floor. We list educational seminars, but not marketing seminars. We will list annual conferences for software companies, if it is open to prospects & press.

Is their a cost for listing the event? Their is no cost for listing an event. If you want to add a banner ad or logo, then we charge for an ad. We will work with you on a good location within the newsletter for the banner ad or logo. See the rate card for banner ad specifications and rates.

What are the parameters for listing the event? Send us a brief that is a maximum of 50 words in the following format. The format that we require is "Name of Event - Start Date to End Date - City, State, Country - Description, Phone or visit URL link." We will take your URL link and make it a live URL link - therefore it must work when you send the information in. Avoid marketing & selling glitz and just state the facts.
